We’d like to highlight a longtime friend and volunteer at Bridge of Hope, Esperanza.
Her name means “hope” in english. Living just one block from our 38th street storehouse, Esperanza has giving her time and energy for the last two years in a very unique position here are BOH. She comes hours earlier than all our other volunteers to take down people’s names so that we can keep an organized distribution running. “I help to help the people sign the list for two things, the food distribution on Friday and the clothing store on Saturday.”
When asked why she likes coming to Bridge of Hope she says, “I like to help because it’s relaxing and a distraction from my home life. I like to help the people here. No more, I just like helping the people.” Esperanza, like many others, found our little storehouse one day while passing by the street and noticed the store. She has since become a faithful member of our team of local volunteers and we are so greatly blessed by her presence and punctuality in serving the community.
